Above par pay and benefits, sub par culture

2.0 of 5 stars

August 2018 | FORMER EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Pay is great as well as the extensive benefits package (e.g., HSA dollars, 401k matching, "Pension Plan", alt travel)

Downers

Work life balance is as expected or worse. Culture as of late feels like a sinking ship. Projects are often scoped to provide extensive discounts on bill rates, which in turn leads to understaffing

Advice to Candidates

Be real with yourself, when applying - the culture is tough, prestige is not there as much as it used to be, and you run the risk of the brand being dissolved and fully integrated into PwC

Strategy& (GSA)

3.0 of 5 stars

June 2018 | FORMER EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Great office culture
Ambitioned people and teams
Higher salaries than MBB

Downers

Not one firm - difficult cooperation with other countries, organizational- and firm culture-wise
Tensions with the mother firm
High proportion of operational long-term projects
The firm is still trying to re-define its identity/values and people culture after the acquisition
Trainings are difficult to sing on (6-12 months waiting lists) and low commitment from the firm to develop their people
Increasing threat from competitors headhunting the firm's leadership team

Advice to Candidates

Can be a great place to be!!! However, one has to be aware that there are also many operational long-term projects.

Great company for post-MBAs

April 2018 | CURRENT EMPLOYEE

Uppers

I love working here... C-level projects, nice people, good career opportunities...
Business is good in US...

Downers

3 years to become a manager, more bureaucracy than MBB after the PwC integration

Advice to Candidates

Top consulting firm after MBB, much better positioning than Deloitte or other boutiques. Good exit opportunities.

Past 4 years were really bad... Booz was another company!

December 2017 | CURRENT EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Not many... but the compensation is still much more aggressive than the other top consulting firms (specially the fixed salary)!

Downers

At least in Brazil, the integration with PwC was not good at all and there are a lot of uncertainty regarding its future!

Advice to Candidates

I would do a very strong due dillinge with the firm current employees

Good, not great

September 2017 | CURRENT EMPLOYEE

Uppers

High-impact, CXO-level projects
Likable, down to earth people

Downers

Can be siloed into a function or industry very early on
Declining brand recognition
Slower career trajectory

Advice to Candidates

It's a great place to start and learn some fundamental business skills, but a questionable place to grow your career.
