At the analyst level, the firm desires candidates willing to be placed in many different situations, including meeting with the client, working with material that one possesses little knowledge of, and displaying the desire to improve and develop.

Interview Process

For core schools, Scottmadden has first round interviews on campus. Callbacks are in the Scottmadden office and consist of three 45 minute one on one interviews focusing on different aspects, such as culture and analytical skills, and a 45 minute presentation. The ideal candidate is well educated, eager, interested in the company, fun-loving and easy to talk to.

Sample Interview Questions

Rather than having a case question for full-time MBA hires, Scottmadden has candidates give a seated 45 minute presentation to 5 consultants. This seems to be a much more realistic approach. Further, it provides a chance for those who have put in the time and effort to shine.
