North Highland provided me with at great opportunity to grow.

Downers

I was not paid, which was very disappointing. North Highland is still a great company.

Comments

I would recommend working with this company, as they provide lots of growth opportunities.

Culture: the company is committed to a high-performing, agile, and kind workforce. Clients are turned down if their culture is not a fit for North Highland consulting teams.

Opportunity: Fast growing firm with offices across the U.S., opportunity to direct own career. MBA hiring becoming more prevalent; comprehensive training offered, career coach, regular feedback loop.

Capabilities Focus: Consultants are able to align to capabilities that fit with their skill-set and desired client work. Career paths exist for both generalists and specialists.

Downers

Compensation: not in line with Big 4/5 - but - generally competitive.

Comments

North Highland must be a good cultural fit for you. Make sure you like the idea of a collaborative environment where you work hard but also play hard. Entrepreneurial mindset is a must, learn how to get staffed, and identify decision makers early in your career.

This is not a real consulting firm

June 2016 | FORMER EMPLOYEE

Uppers

It's an easy place to park and do the minimum effort

Downers

Not a serious consulting firm - work is basically staff augmentation. Attracts consultants who can't get jobs elsewhere, or looking to retire. Dead end for new starts.

Comments

Look elsewhere - Slalom, Point B, West Monroe Parters are all far superior

No travel policy and the firm works with you to find the right placement that will help your career growth goals. Firm is good about getting rid of people who do not fit in to their culture.

Downers

Poor compensation - you take a salary cut in order to not travel. Limited career advancement opportunities.

Comments

If you are looking for work life balance then this is the place but it comes with a cost of taking on projects that are not aligned with your goals.

no travel, good people, work balance lifestyle, fun projects with talented consultants

Downers

pay is below industry standard, promotions lead to little salary increase, very little room for growth, up or out model exists

Comments

this company is geared towards people later in their career and there is no infrastructure in place for young people still early in their career

The teamwork and comraderie is excellent. I really feel like a valued employee, and my management is truly concerned with my development.

Downers

The base pay is lower than other firms, and the performance bonus structure can be difficult to decipher.
