You can find an expert on literally anything at the firm.Everyone is dedicated to help you develop.
You will do well if you fit into the firm's mold of how it think stuff should be done.Work-life balance is still a struggle.
To succeed at McKinsey you need to find the people you like working with very soon.

global exposure; challenging projects;full of talents; extensive and helpful alumni network;
long hours, sometimes due to inefficient team and scope management
prepare for long hours but definitely totally worthy; enjoy and keep challenging yourself

Steep learning curve only limited by yourself.Very mature conversations among employees and partners of different levels on how to cope and how to make things better.Excellent benefits.
Long hours and pressure to perform are a drain on your physical and emotional health. The Client comes first, then the Firm, and only then you. Since both the Client and the Firm are super demanding, there is very little in for yourself.
It's a brilliant place, a beautiful institution. If you get in and have interest, give it a try. I don't know of anyone who regrets trying it out.
Very smart people, challenging problems, steep learning curve, great career opportunities
Very long hours, lots of travel, poor work life balance
Great opportunity to get broad exposure to different areas of business and learn how to solve the most difficult problems
Lots of opportunity to craft your own experience. You can pursue your interests wherever they are. Lots of flexible working options.
There are sometimes long hours and of course lots of travel.
Definitely spend time preparing for the interviews. Make sure to reach out to someone who has worked there to get advice as a first step.

You truly do work with the smartest people, and you learn a while new way of thinking
THe hours are brutal. Some coworkers were pretentious, but generally good to work with.
They place a huge premium on your marks so make sure they are up to par before bothering to apply.
you work with the top talent and on the most challenging projects, this is truly the elite of consulting, well respected everywhere, exit to top business schools and corporations
hours, very competitive, up or out culture, only a specific type of strong person can be successful here
2 cases in the first round, 4 cases in the final round,
Several words come to mind: challenging, benefits, environment of brilliant people, and team oriented.
Depending on the office, it can involve long hours and harsh criticism from superiors to perform well.
Practice a lot for the case interviews. They are definitely the most heavily weighted part.

Great people and training, opportunity to travel and work in foreign countries
Long hours, variable management, up or out policy means you can never be comfortable
Practicing case interview with a current or former member of the firm is critical to success
