Good place to learn strategy consulting methodologies but management issues

3.0 of 5 stars

September 2017 | FORMER EMPLOYEE

- Clients (Fortune 500 clients)
- Some very interesting projects
- True strategy consulting firm (spin-off of BCG) with a consulting engineering and problem solving culture
- Not "mainstream" or stereotyped consultant behaviors as at bigger consulting firms or big 4
- Mentorship of young consultants

- Only a few clients in each office; it could be experienced as very repetitive if you don't move to other offices
- A bit old-fashioned; grey-hair management; limited renewal
- Aggressive top management with a dominant wolf and conflictual behavior
- Family business
- Best talent drain

Advice to Candidates

Do your homeworks on what is the firm today (google search is not enough, you should connect with some alumni)

A large amount of competitive intelligence work that at times pushes the boundaries of professional ethics

Advice to Candidates

I have learned a lot and greatly improved my quant skills, but it's not a long-term career unless you prefer not to see your friends and family except on the weekends that you're not working.
