September 2017 | FORMER EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Works with major players in virtually every industry, associates can get wide breadth of experience in multiple industries and decide to become a SME

Downers

Long hours, lack of transparency and support from senior leadership, average to sub-average compensation package, as senior staff, you will work alone or with very limited staff and limited guidance from your direct manager, opaque "performance-based" raises and bonuses

Advice to Candidates

Be very proactive with your career direction at this firm. Senior leadership will provide very basic mentorship, and it is up to you to shape your own career. Even then, many political and structural barriers will be in your way. Also be very cognizant of your skillset and how to improve it. Providing good work that is also unique in comparison to your peers is a cornerstone for promotion.

good but can be better!!

Not much. I had a bad experience personally; Not to say everyone is unhappy but there are certainly better options out there (Accenture, Deloitte, etc.)

Downers

Bad management, No bonuses paid, Abuse of PTO policies, No clear leadership goal

Advice to Candidates

If you are looking for a pure pay bump and dump this place might be a good place to anchor for a year or so but otherwise I would not recommend joining KPMG's Cyber practice.

If you are good, work your network to change positions often so you don't get typecast.

Outstanding college hires then taper off as you age and see the grind and what it takes to advance in Advisory.

Downers

Different lifestyles btwn Audit, Advisory and tax - Nothing is measurable as far as assiging goals and rewards.
