Founded in 1981, Kaiser Associates is a global boutique strategy consulting firm headquartered in Washington, D.C., with regional offices in London, São Paulo, and Kuala Lumpur. Its business is divided into three main areas: corporate strategy, public sector strategy, and performance improvement / organization design.

Kaiser means king-of fact-based strategy

Kaiser's Corporate Strategy practices work with Fortune 500 companies to develop and execute business strategy. The company, founded in 1981, was originally known for its Benchmarking capability. Kaiser published Beating the Competition: A Practical Guide to Benchmarking in 1985 and cemented its roots as a pioneer of benchmarking. 

While Kaiser's industry and consulting expertise has since diversified, the firm continues to specialize in fact-based and externally-driven strategy, performance improvement, and organizational design analysis for its clients. Kaiser's consultants use primary and secondary research to generate insights that are customized to each client's unique situation. 

Whether entering a new market, improving competitiveness, building/renewing capabilities, or restructuring operations, Kaiser Associates supports and enables a wide range of strategic decisions. Going public (sector)

In 2010, Kaiser Associates formally established a Public Sector practice to bring the firm's private sector management advisory capabilities to government entities that face similar strategic and operational challenges. The practice assists government organizations by combining relevant commercial best practices with proven strategic frameworks to increase efficiency and effectiveness. It supports clients with developing insight and solutions along three major functional areas: strategy and planning, organization development, and operational effectiveness. The team has grown to become one of the largest practices in the firm in order to accommodate their expanding client base, a result of their increased presence and recognition in the public sector.

Going the distance

With over 120 consultants, international offices, and a variety of in-house language capabilities, Kaiser boasts a global reach to support their expanding client base. The firm serves its global multinational clients from its combined transatlantic headquarters in Washington, D.C., and London, and supports additional clients in Asia and South America from its regional offices in Kuala Lumpur and São Paulo. Because of the global nature of Kaiser's clients, consultants in the different regional offices often partner together on projects for the same multinational client, with opportunities for short-term transfers to other offices.
