Deloitte Consulting is organized into three service areas, which are: Human Capital, Strategy and Operations, and Technology. Deloitte Consulting's strategy and operations practice has a double-digit share of the global market, and consistently ranks in the top five firms in the industry. The practice works with senior executives to help them solve their toughest and most complex problems by bringing an approach to executable strategy that combines deep industry knowledge, rigorous analysis, and insight to enable confident action. Their services include corporate strategy, customer and marketing strategy, mergers and acquisitions, social impact strategy, innovation, business model transformation, supply chain and manufacturing operations, sector-specific service operations and financial management.

The organization is also well known for its human capital practice, one of the largest human capital practices in the world. The practice specializes in integrating talent issues with business strategy, with the aim of helping clients enhance their performance, productivity and profitability. Specific services in this area include HR transformation, global mobility, organization change and talent strategy, workforce and safety analytics, employment services for multinational organizations, actuarial and risk, and "total rewards," including benefits such as health care, retirement and compensation.

Deloitte Consulting's technology practice is consistently rated and ranked by industry analysts as one of the leading tech service providers in the world, delivering a holistic portfolio of support to clients, ranging from advisory services through to implementation and operations assistance. The practice helps clients in their efforts to align technology with the core of their business strategy to deliver measurable results. Key services support such activities as technology strategy and innovation, information management, business analytic architecture, technology enabled business transformation, mobility solutions, and technology integration and optimization. The practice also includes Deloitte Digital, which combines cutting-edge creative with trusted business and technology experience to design and deliver digital experiences that help strengthen clients' brands and evolve their businesses.

View from the top

Being CEO of Deloitte LLP is, in some ways, like being president, in that both jobs come with a term limit. In Deloitte's case, that limit is four years, after which time an election for a new leader takes place--a process that doesn't preclude the incumbent from serving an additional term. The current occupant of the U.S. CEO seat is Joe Echevarria, who was elected to the post in 2011, after 30 years of service to the organization.

Heading up Deloitte Consulting in the U.S. is Jim Moffatt, as CEO, a position he was elected to in May 2011. Moffatt has been with Deloitte Consulting for over 25 years, and has worked his way up through the company's consulting unit. Most recently, he was the national managing director for the consulting practice's Clients & Industries group. He replaced Punit Renjen, who was elected Chairman of Deloitte LLP in 2011, after serving as Consulting CEO for two years.

Deloitte acquires Bersin & Associates, leading talent management, research and advisory services Company

Deloitte acquired substantially all of the assets of Oakland, Calif.-based Bersin & Associates, LLC, now Bersin by Deloitte, a leading provider of research-based membership programs and advisory services in the human resources (HR), talent and learning market. Combined with Deloitte's leading human capital and talent capabilities, Deloitte and Bersin are poised to provide the talent marketplace with broad HR and talent management solutions ranging from data, research and analysis, strategic insights and technology selection through final implementation. Deloitte acquires fast-growing health care data warehousing and analytics firm Recombinant

In a move signaling the growing momentum for using clinical data to transform health care, Deloitte acquired Recombinant Data Corp., a fast-growing provider of data warehousing and clinical intelligence solutions that enable advances in personalized medicine, translational research and health-care performance management.
