Long known for its tech implementation and outsourcing abilities, Capgemini has been making inroads into the strategy side of the industry in recent years too. The emergence of its separately-branded Capgemini Consulting unit is one of the more intriguing developments in recent years, not least because the trend in the emerging big data field has tended to go the other way: strategy shops leaning into the tech realm. Founded as Sogeti by Serge Kampf in France in 1967, the company has gone from strength to strength, acquiring companies, adding service lines and branching into new territories around the world at a steady clip ever since.
