Interview Process

Our firm is highly selective. We get hundreds of pre-screen applicants each year and typically hire 10-20 new employees from that pool. An ideal candidate has a strong quantitative background with familiarity with statistical software. They are motivated, attentive to detail, and a strong team player.

Interview Process

The interview process at BW is formal and taken seriously. All people who participate are committed to identify the best candidates. A good candidate is one who likes collaboration and that has good technical (empirical) skills.

Sample Interview Questions

An large part of the interviews is the fit of the candidate to BW and its culture. Many questions are about collaboration and teamwork. Cases for undergraduate consultants are interesting because they are stylized versions of real cases in which BW participated, which provides an idea of the type of work we do.

The ideal undergrad candidate will exude professionalism, project themselves as easy to work with a variety of personalities, and be able to communicate effectively. A candidate should also show they have strong quantitative skills and a detailed oriented mindset. I also highly respect a candidate who can respect employees of the firm at all levels, from operations to entry level consultants, to senior level management.
