With locations in Texas, New York, DC and even Mexico,
Strasburger may have its feet in several legal markets-but its home
base remains in the Lone Star State, where it was founded over 70
years ago. The firm serves clients of all sizes, from Texas
startups and mid-sized companies to Fortune 500 corporations.
Partners through Thick and Thin
Founders Henry Strasburger and Hobart Price were classmates at
the University of Texas and both graduated from law school there in
1921. Price--reputedly armed with a photographic memory--had no
problem finding a job at a top Dallas law firm soon after
graduation, and he encouraged his firm to take a chance on his
friend Strasburger. The firm accepted Strasburger, and he proved
himself a worthy bet, eventually becoming one of the most
highly-regarded trial lawyers in Texas. In 1939, Strasburger and
Price decided to found their own firm in Dallas.
Timing was not on the firm's side, however. Within a year, six
of the firm's eight partners were summoned away to fight in WWII,
leaving Strasburger and one other attorney to keep the firm going.
They made it through the struggles of wartime, and the firm began
to grow and thrive. Initially founded as an insurance defense firm,
Strasburger expanded its practice areas in 1958 to include tax,
business transactions and estate planning. Its growth continues
today, with a range of practice areas and over 200 attorneys.
Strasburger was ranked as the fastest-growing law firm in Texas and
as the fifth fastest-growing firm in the country by Law.com.
