It’s common for lawyers to spend time together after hours, and associates describe the firm as “very friendly” and “like a family.” Hours are generally manageable, with plenty of flexibility in terms of where and when attorneys complete their work. Some feel there could be more transparency from the upper ranks. But, associates are pleased with their relationships with partners and appreciate their willingness to mentor. - “[There are] several firm-organized social events per year, which are excellent! Lawyers socialize outside of these events as we wish.”
- “Our firm is very friendly. The firm wants people to stay and make their careers here. The lawyers socialize quite a bit. Over the holidays, there are lots of firm-organized happy hours and holiday parties, and over the summer when the summer associates are here there are constant events and mixers and happy hours to attend. Other than that, there aren't many firm-organized events, but the lawyers themselves plan and hang out with each other (and the support staff) often. I personally get lunch with the other first year associates each Friday (schedule permitting).
