Hanson Bridgett is a Northern California law firm with more than
150 attorneys in offices in San Francisco, Sacramento, the North
Bay, and the East Bay. In 1936 Arthur T. Bridgett and Raymond L.
Hanson graduated from two San Francisco law schools and embarked on
disparate early careers. Bridgett graduated from San Francisco Law
School, opened a one-man shop focusing at first on corporate law
and later on litigation, and in 1953 joined Gerald Marcus to form
Bridgett & Marcus. Meanwhile Hanson graduated from Hastings Law
School, served as ADA in San Francisco for two years, and served as
a Navy intelligence officer during WWII, forming Schofield, Hanson
and Jenkins after the war. In 1958 the two firms merged to form
Schofield, Hanson, Bridgett, Marcus & Jenkins, which would
later become simply Hanson Bridgett. Like Ben & Jerrys
and Etsy, Hanson Bridgett is a certified B Corp, meaning it
is committed to benefit society as well as its shareholders.
