About the Company

Grinnell Mutual was formed in 1909 by John Evans and originally known as Iowa Farmers Mutual Reinsurance Association. Its initial mission was to provide reinsurance to county mutual. In 1933, it moved its operations from Greenfield, Iowa, to Grinnell, Iowa. The company has had numerous name changes since its inception and adopted its current name, Grinnell Mutual, in 1963. 

Grinnell Mutual offers auto insurance, homeowners’ insurance, business insurance, umbrella policies, and farm insurance. Its farm-mate insurance policies offer protection for both large and small farms, including their crops, livestock, equipment, and structures.
