COUNTRY Mutual Insurance sells property/casualty insurance in both rural and urban settings. A member of CC Services (known as COUNTRY Financial), the company sells homeowners, renters, farm, automobile, and commercial insurance to individuals and businesses. The company provides policies in about 30 states in the midwestern, western, northeastern, and southeastern US. Founded in 1925, COUNTRY Mutual's subsidiaries include COUNTRY Preferred Insurance Company, COUNTRY Casualty Insurance Company, and Modern Service Insurance Company.
COUNTRY Mutual and its subsidiaries market policies in 10 midwestern and western US states (Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin) and three southeastern states (Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee). In addition, polices in the western and midwestern states of Alaska, Illinois, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington are provided exclusively to members of the respective state's agricultural organization.
COUNTRY also provides insurance products in 10 additional states primarily in the Northeast (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia) through an alliance with Middlesex Mutual Assurance and Holyoke Mutual Insurance, both of which are known as The MiddleOak companies.
In 2012 COUNTRY Mutual acquired one of its marketing partners, Cotton States Mutual Insurance Company, and assumed responsibility for underwriting the former Cotton States property/casualty insurance policies for customers in the Southeast (Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee). COUNTRY Mutual and Cotton States Mutual previously marketed products together in the region through an alliance agreement.
