Sales and Marketing
Asurion offers insurance for wireless phones and their content (even allowing users to erase content from a phone that has been stolen). The company also offers insurance for home computers, TVs, and home phones. Its services are offered over the phone and in the home (as in its technical support staff makes house calls).
To extend its reach into an emerging market, in 2015 Asurion signed an agreement with Latin America's leading wireless communications provider, América Móvil. The new service launched in the region protects devices from damage, including liquid damage and broken screens, mechanical, and electrical malfunction, and theft.
In 2014 the company partnered with Canada's fourth largest mobile operator, WIND Mobile, to deliver the WIND Phone Protection Plan. The new service is available to WIND customers and protects devices from loss, theft, and various forms of damage.
Mergers and Acquisitions
In 2013 Asurion beefed up its mobile product portfolio with the acquisition of Soluto. Soluto's support capabilities were integrated into Asurion's Premier Support Solutions line of services, which offer consumers access to an expert support technician, capable of addressing a wide range of hardware and software topics and issues.
