About USDA Rural Development

Rural businesses often turn to the Rural Development Business and Cooperative Programs (BCP) division of the Department of Agriculture  for assistance of the financial and informational kind. BCP works with private-sector and community-based groups to provide loans and grants to recipients who do business in rural areas, including cooperatives, non-profit corporations, and Indian tribes. It also supports residents and groups interested in the cooperative form of business. Job creation and healthy rural economic activity are among BCP's main pursuits.
