About Corporation For National & Community Service

The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) is looking for a few good volunteers. CNCS is the nation's largest grant provider for service and volunteering, providing such opportunities through its Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America programs. It also offers training and technical expertise to organizations and researches different methods of community service. The CNCS was established in 1993 by merging ACTION and the Commission on National and Community Service. The corporation worked with a $860 million budget in 2008 and received a presidential budget request of $830 million for 2009. Each year CNCS recognizes outstanding volunteers with the Spirit of Service Awards.
