Manhattan Beachwear can outfit you for tar beach and beyond. The company designs, makes, and markets women's and men's swimwear and beach accessories under its own La Blanca, 2 Bamboo, Bikini Lab, 24th & Ocean, and Maxine of Hollywood brands. It also makes private label merchandise and produces swimwear under license for Ralph Lauren, Lauren Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Kenneth Cole New York, Sperry Top-Sider, and Nanette Lepore Swim, among others. The company distributes its products through department stores (Macy's, Nordstrom), mass retailers, and specialty swimwear shops nationwide. Manhattan Beachwear is owned by Linsalata Capital Partners.
California-based Manhattan Beachwear's swimwear is sold throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and the UK. The company also operates a subsidiary in Portugal, which supplies swimwear to the European market.
The combination of the two companies created a large and diverse portfolio of swimwear brands, which Linsalata Capital Partners believes will enable it to become a leading supplier of women's and men's swimwear.
Mergers and Acquisitions
Manhattan Beachwear grows its product portfolio through the use of acquisitions. In 2014 it acquired CMK Manufacturing, a leading provider of women's active and lifestyle apparel. Based in Los Angeles, CMK Manufacturing designed and owned the brand names Green Dragon and Pink Lotus.
Private equity firm Linsalata Capital Partners acquired Apparel Ventures, Inc. in October 2010 and combined it with Manhattan Beachwear. The merged company continued under the Manhattan Beachwear name.
