Omgeo's goal is to be a trader's best friend. The company develops post-trade, pre-settlement trade management software that processes transactions for major financial companies and brokerages. Its core product suite is designed to handle trades between investment managers and broker/dealers, including applications for managing settlement instructions. Other Omgeo tools are tailored for such financial instruments as equities and derivatives. The company also offers software for trade allocation and acceptance (OASYS) and comparison (TradeMatch). The company has more than 15 international sales offices. Established in 2011, Omgeo is a joint venture between The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation and Thomson Reuters.
With customers in more than 40 countries, Omgeo relies on its international business to drive growth. In 2011 the company boasted an increase in its global customer base of 40%. The previous year it said that sales in Japan grew by more than one quarter, while parent company Thomson Reuters reported that Omgeo's overall sales rose just slightly in 2010, after a dip in 2009, due to higher equity volume.
Omgeo has sales, technology, and service partnerships with global financial software and services providers including Bloomberg, SunGard, BT Radianz, and Fidessa.
