NetCracker Technology provides operation support systems (OSS) technology services to telecommunications service providers, cable operators, corporate enterprises, and government agencies. The NEC subsidiary's offerings, which include IT infrastructure management services, allow customers to manage their telecommunications assets and provide telecommunications services. NetCracker's software includes tools for network inventory, order management, telecom cost management, and customer impact analysis, among other functions. Customers have included Orange, Telstra, TELUS, and Sprint.
The company's corporate headquarters are located near Boston in Waltham, Massachusetts. NetCracker has operations in North America, South America, Central America, Western Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the Pacific Region.
The firm uses long-term contracts to secure its best customers. In 2013 NetCracker signed a multi-year managed services contract with VIVO to develop, implement, and operate a comprehensive BSS solution for VIVO’s mobile service. VIVO is the mobile brand of Telefonica Group in Brazil. Also in 2013 NetCracker signed a long-term software maintenance agreement to support Swisscom's (Switzerland) IP Service Fulfillment solution and Cox Communications selected NetCracker to provide a multi-year managed services business support system (BSS) solution that will enhance the lead-to-cash process for Cox Business, the company’s line of service offerings designed for business customers.
Mergers and Acquisitions
In 2012 it agreed to acquire the business support systems unit of Convergys for $450 million to expand its capabilities.
