Interview Process

The acceptance rate here is close to 1%. That is based on the sheer volume of resumes we receive for open positions. The majority of the full time hires come out of the internship.

They are looking for unique and diverse backgrounds, strong academic success, and enjoyable personalities. Usually there is a round of phone screens and an on-site superday before a unanimous hiring decision must be reached.

Resume drop followed by phone screen and then on-site interviews. May include a modeling test in some departments. Ideal candidate is smart, has a good grasp of finance and accounting, is a very fast learner, and is personable.

HR was very responsive and offer was given through a call by MD/D at superday. They are seeking very social/interesting people who have proven academic excellence and leadership. They love greek life and athletes.

Had to do a full LBO case study and calculate IRR with a pen and paper. Lots of qualitative questions.

Interview process is very competitive and become increasingly more so, as Blair is the most prestigious bank headquartered in Chicago.

rigorous screening, so expect multiple rounds of interviews with peers and senior bankers. focus is primarily on fit, and true commitment to growing the practice. Tenure of Blair bankers is extremely long vs industry averages, so that underscores that each hire is being made with a long term perspective in mind.
