April 2015 | CURRENT EMPLOYEE

Uppers

The salary is okay. The benefits are very good. The prestige is excellent.

Downers

The hours, the limit to upward mobility unless you are a banker. This is not a place for administrative people who have worked somewhere else before. It is ridiculously demanding and very unfair unless you jibe with their culture.

Comments

This is a great place for seasoned upper level finance professionals.

Comments

Prospective analysts should consider five main criteria when evaluating investment banking opportunities: 1) firm culture 2) work/life balance 3) learning opportunity and responsibility 4) compensation 5) exit opportunities. Blackstone is excellent across the board in all five categories
