The people - we have a very strong culture which has kept me at the firm (and happy) for many years

Downers

It's a job in investment banking, which means that long hours are always possible and your time is not always your own.

Comments

I always feel that you want to work for a place that views you as an asset, not a commodity who is going to be gone in two years, so why bother treating employees well?

Definitely the deal flow is good. Every banker gets tons of experience. If a 3rd year analyst is really good, they promote them right away so there is agility in the system.

Downers

we get $40 for dinner now so that's good...i don't know

Comments

The exposure to different aspects of the financial world is a career building opportunity. You can stay being a banker but you get exposure to private equity firms, or just corporations in general. it's a great way to break into the financial community.

The ability to have genuine impact at the firm and with clients the ability to really get to know the business and be a true contributor for juniors to be involved with clients, seniors at the firm and have genuine impact

Downers

decentralized means that you have to be comfortable being on the phone with colleagues more than if you were in the same office

Comments

You can be a true bankers in any city unlike other Investment Banks. Also in the industry coverage groups you do M&A so don't just look at M&A.
