Entry-level in Mergers & Acquisitions

4.9 of 5 stars

New York, NY | 2016 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Blue chip clients means little pitching, relaxed culture means no facetime, excellent compensation and exit opportunities

Downers

Small teams lead to a lot of responsibility falling to analysts and hours can be bad when deals are active

Comments

Greenhill remains one of the best places to be an analyst, especially of you do not want to be at a bulge bracket or at one of the very large boutiques. The deal flow is solid and the small teams mean you get a lot of responsibility and opportuity to learn. Buyside recruiting has improved in the last couple of years, with mosts analysts going to large HFs, MFs and upper MM shops

The culture is remarkable and cannot be beat.

Downers

The hours are long, but expected in banking.

Comments

At Greenhill, you sacrifice a lot of time, but are rewarded in both compensation, exit opportunities, and a great experience while at Greenhill. With specific regard to the Chicago office, I think it is a great place to work and the investment bank in Chicago.

I would not do my banking analyst years anywhere else. Period, end of story.
