Investment Banking Analyst Experience

November 2016 | FORMER EMPLOYEE

Work sharpens your speed, thinking, and ability to handle stress. Salary

Downers

Very competitive; work sometimes destroys your ego and thus results in poorer performance, as well.

Comments

For one, you have to have an excellent grade point average-- around 3.6 will be the cut off.

The Star of Investment Banking

Goldman Sachs for me is the star of the financial services industry. What differentiate GS from others is the ability to attract the best talent and even make those high performers exceed their levels. The firm is a firm believer in investing in technology.

Downers

Sometimes drive people very hard so people who are looking for balanced life may find it difficult.

Comments

Be prepared to make work your life. Be prepared to be pushed out of your comfort zone.

September 2016 | CURRENT EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Almost everything--the culture is wonderful, diversity is around every corner, your managers truly invest in your success, and GS takes great pride in all products.

Downers

The only downer about working here so far is that the cafeteria gets a bit expensive.

Comments

If you are considering GS alongside one of its competitors, you should choose GS if you are ready for a job filled with learning, team work, community service, and delivering superb results. After all, it is ranked #1!

August 2016 | FORMER EMPLOYEE

Goldman Sachs is arguably the best brand and has a very close-knit environment.

Downers

Mostly back-office presentations, lack of networking opportunities. The firm seems to push everyone to do more hours even if you're in back office or middle office.

Comments

Network, Network, Network!!!! Cannot emphasize this enough. Group cultures vary a lot at this firm so be wary of that.
