I think Cowen is a great place that gives great experience. The culture is collegial and accountable, but no room for coasting.

I've learned a lot and am very close with the people I work with regularly

You will have a lot of responsibility very early while working at Cowen. Those who are true self-starters can create great opportunities for themselves at Cowen and elsewhere after working at Cowen

Junior team too lean support the number of senior bankers properly, junior team burns out and morale is low

Compensation is great and the firm is expanding, lean deal teams mean you learn a lot with a lot of responsibility from early on, small teams also means there are not enough resources for the projects that need to get done, some senior team members value quantity of active assignments over quality and ability to reach a successful close

Cowen has over-delivered in terms of experience and though is not a leader in compensation, has a fair compensation policy.
