The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ is the largest bank in Japan. It is the main subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and has roots dating back to 1870. Today, BTMU has offices all over Japan and in more than 40 other countries across the globe. Its services include commercial banking, trust banking, securities, credit cards, consumer finance, asset management, and leasing. Its commercial bank operates through approximately 770 branches in Japan and 75 branches overseas. In 2011, parent Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group was named the Global Bank of the Year by Project Finance International.
