Teller

3.0 of 5 stars

October 2017 | FORMER EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Benefits are great even for lower level employees - matching retirement, tuition reimbursement. Hours are also excellent.

Downers

The quality of job is highly dependent on how busy your branch is.

Comments

Status of teller jobs in general has decreased due to automation and more sophisticated electronic access to bank accounts. The job is essentially just sales at this point.

Bank of America Career

3.0 of 5 stars

September 2017 | CURRENT EMPLOYEE

Uppers

- Ability to learn various facets of financial industry due to size and breadth of organization
- Great benefits
- CEO seems genuine in his vision and priorities

Downers

- Career advancement opportunity has stalled for middle management(band 3 to band 5) due to flattening of organization
- "Talent planning" process is broken: more political and forced stackranking than a true talent planning
- Front line empowerment is still more of a slogan than reality for most LOBs.

Comments

Get an internal sponsor if possible. Like for any interviews, do your your due diligence on the company and department you are applying for.

Great experience, a lot of responsibility early on. Top notch transactions with commensurate compensation. Flexible Saturday policy.

Mid-level in Leveraged Finance | Charlotte, NC | 2017 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Learn a lot, high growth, interesting (most of the time), compensation

Downers

You work a lot - but that's really a "worst aspect of investment banking"

Comments

This is a top tier experience for bulge bracket IB and I would especially value the culture (though will be group-specific) in your decision since most good shops will give you "good reps"

Great people, pretty good comp as a small fish in a very big pond
