Monarch Casino & Resort hopes high rollers will rediscover Atlantis. The company's tropical-themed Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nevada, includes nearly 1,000 hotel rooms, a 51,000-sq.-ft. casino, nearly ten restaurants, a health club, a nightclub, and a family entertainment center. Casino operations, which account for more than half of revenue, include 40 gaming tables, about 1,500 slot and video poker machines, keno, and a race and sports book. The family of founder David Farahi -- including John, Bob, and Ben Farahi -- own more than half of the company.

The company also owns the Atlantis Convention Center Skybridge, a pedestrian skywalk connecting the resort to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, located across the street. In addition to the Atlantis, Monarch Casino owns separate parcels of land adjacent to the Atlantis. The hotel and casino targets Reno and Tahoe area leisure travelers, convention-goers, and northern Nevada residents.

In 2012 Monarch expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Riviera Black Hawk, located in Black Hawk, Colorado, approximately 40 miles west of Denver. The property includes 32,000 square feet of casino space, 750 slot machines, 8 table games, and a 250 seat buffet-style restaurant.
