About Monarch Casino & Resort, Inc.

Monarch Casino & Resort hopes high rollers will rediscover Atlantis. The company's tropical-themed Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nevada, includes nearly 1,000 hotel rooms, a 51,000-sq.-ft. casino, nearly ten restaurants, a health club, a nightclub, and a family entertainment center. The company also owns and operates the Monarch Casino Black Hawk in Black Hawk, Colorado. Casino operations, which account for more than half of revenue, include gaming tables, slot and video poker machines, keno, and a race and sports book. The family of founder David Farahi -- including John, Bob, and Ben Farahi -- own more than half of the company.

The company also owns the Atlantis Convention Center Skybridge, a pedestrian skywalk connecting the resort to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, located across the street. In addition to the Atlantis, Monarch Casino owns separate parcels of land adjacent to the Atlantis. The hotel and casino targets Reno and Tahoe area leisure travelers, convention-goers, and northern Nevada residents.

Financial Performance

The Atlantis Casino Resort Spa contributed 75% of sales in fiscal 2013 while the Monarch Casino Black Hawk in Black Hawk contributed 25% of sales in fiscal 2013.

The company's revenue has been increasing year-over-year. It reported $188.7 million in revenue for fiscal 2013, up from $170.4 million in revenue for fiscal 2012, and $140.6 in revenue for fiscal 2011. The increase in revenue was mainly due to increased revenue from Atlantis and Monarch Black Hawk by 6% and 60%, respectively.

Monarch's net income also went up in fiscal 2013 compared to the prior year. It reported net income of almost $18 million for fiscal 2013, up from $8.9 million in net income for fiscal 2013. The company's cash flow increased by about $10 million during fiscal 2013 compared to fiscal 2012 levels.

Monarch is constantly working to improve its facilities to better serve the comprehensive needs of its guests.
