With a growing stable of models. Kia is turning more and more heads in the US. Kia Motors America is the US sales, marketing and distribution arm of South Korea-based Kia Motors. In the US Kia sells the Forte (coupe, sedan, and five-door hatchback), Optima (sedan, also comes in a hybrid engine version), Rio (compact sedan), Sedona (minivan), Sorento (SUV), Soul (urban passenger vehicle), and Sportage (SUV) models. In 2013 the K900 brand was introduced; it is the first rear-wheel drive sedan to be released by Kia Motors in North America. The next year, the company unveiled the Soul EV, the company’s second mass-produced electric vehicle.
The company is the US arm of parent company, Kia Motors, and has operating locations in Irvine and Santa Monica, California; and in Township, Michigan. It also has a manufacturing plant at West Point, Georgia.

Kia Motors America operates through a network of more than 765 dealers across the United States.
The parent company gained 36% of its 2014 revenues from its North American operations.
In 2014 Kia Motors America announced a multiyear extension of its marketing partnership with the National Basketball Association. It also announced that it would become an Official Automotive Partner of the Women's National Basketball Association and the NBA Development League.
