In the US Kia sells the Forte (coupe, sedan, and five-door hatchback), Optima (sedan, also comes in a hybrid engine version), Rio (compact sedan), Sedona (minivan), Sorento (SUV), Soul (urban passenger vehicle), and Sportage (SUV) models. In 2013 the K900 brand was introduced; it is the first rear-wheel drive sedan to be released by Kia Motors in North America. The next year, the company unveiled the Soul EV, the company's second mass-produced electric vehicle.
The company is the US arm of parent company,
, and has operating locations in Irvine and Santa Monica, California; and in Township, Michigan. It also has a manufacturing plant at West Point, Georgia.
