The Green Valley Pecan Company owns about 6,000 acres of pecan trees just south of Tucson, Arizona. The orchards produce the crop from which Green Valley manufactures approximately 8 million pounds a year of shelled, roasted and unroasted, whole, halved, chopped, and ground pecans. Green Valley grows the Western Schley and Wichita varieties of pecans, which are suited to the high Sonoran Desert environment of its orchards. Vertically integrated, the company raises, harvests, processes, packages, and ships its crop. Established in 1948 by the late Keith Walden on a ranch that in the early 1900s grew guayule plants for rubber, Green Valley Pecan is today owned and operated by Keith's son, Richard.

The company raises 106,000 pecan trees and produces pecans in a variety of sizes, forms, and flavors. Pecan sizes include mammoth, extra large, large, medium, small, and midget; forms include whole pecans, pecan halves, pieces, granules, and meal.  Candied, spiced and flavored varieties are also available. Its products are shipped worldwide and can be ordered through the company's Web site.
