These producers aren't just milling about, they're about milling. Producers Rice Mill dries, mills, and markets more than 50 million bushels of rice each year, which it sells both domestically and overseas. The growers' cooperative is one of the largest private-label producers of rice in the US, packaging more than 100 brands for the foodservice, retail, private label, export, and industrial industries. Its brands include ParExcellence, LeGourment, Golden Harvest, Classic Grains, Granada, Mandalay, Bamboo 103, Calrose, and Thai Orchard. It also processes rice for animal feeds, such as Buck Grub deer feed and Equi-Jewel horse feed.
In addition to its corporate headquarters and production facilities in Stuttgart, Arkansas, the cooperative has receiving operations in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas. It has plants in DeWitt, Eudora, Fair Oaks, Pine Bluff, Stuttgart, Tyronza, Wilmot, Wilson, and Wynne in Arkansas; Boyle and Greenville in Mississippi; and DeWitt in Texas. About 15% of US milled grains like rice are exported to countries such as Canada, Mexico, Japan, Haiti, and Iraq.
Along with bagged and bulk rice, Producers also offers parboiled rice and seasoned rice mixes and processes rice for animal feed. During 2012-13, Producers' mills processed 64.3 million bushels of rice, up 14% from the previous year.
Sales and Marketing
The company serves foodservice, retail, private label, export, and industrial customers. Ahold U.S.A., Federated, Nash Finch, and SUPERVALU have been long-term customers.
The USDA projects a demand in US rice exports over the next several years. Milled rice will have a higher demand, which will directly benefit the US rice industry.
Producers is a farmer-owned cooperative.
