Great place to be a part of

5.0 of 5 stars

August 2017 | FORMER EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Wonderful team members, great culture. Everyone is passionate about the mission (helping national security and the Warfighter). Everyone is respectful and lives by strong ethical standards.

Downers

Some locations are off on their own island and can't offer great opportunities because of the nature of their business.

Advice to Candidates

You need to care about what Raytheon does - that is of the utmost importance. Make no mistake about it - Raytheon is a defense contractor and also the largest missile manufacturer in the world. They do these things with the utmost concern for ethics and responsibility to the nation. If that gives you pause, it is not the right company for you.

Design Engineer - Space and Airborne Systems

January 2016 | FORMER EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Reasonable work-life balance
Competitive salary
Interesting projects
Excellent provision of design software, tools, and support needed for advanced engineering

Downers

Tendency to silo different skill sets
Difficult to see the big picture, team members often treated as small cogs in a big machine

Advice to Candidates

Raytheon SAS was a good place to work as a design engineer, but it seemed difficult to grow your skill set without pushing hard for new challenges. Team leads and management tended to see employees as tools to fit into the right slot on the team, rather than dynamic problem solvers.

Management did a good job of balancing project commitments with employee work-life balance. Actual culture was highly dependent on the particular department you work in, even within a single location.

Wonderful staff, great experience.

March 2015 | CURRENT EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Hundreds of mart people, top pay, if you need to relocate the benefits are amazing.

Downers

Ethical conflict can affect managements decisions. Hours are less then satisfactory.

Advice to Candidates

Could use a training overall for new staff. Sink or swim mentality.
