Does the spell-check at aircraft parts inventory service Kellstrom Aerospace correct "enginuity"? Using its ingenuity to specialize in engines made by CFM International, General Electric, Pratt & Whitney, and Rolls-Royce, the company supplies new and overhauled products for military and commercial aircraft. Kellstrom, doing business as Kellstrom Industries, also provides maintenance for military and commercial aircraft components. Customers include commercial airlines, US and foreign military forces, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities. Investment firm Inverness Management owns a controlling stake in Kellstrom.
The company operates through five business segments. Commercial Aerospace supplies aircraft parts, as well as providing logistics and material management support to customers that have included Delta Air Lines, Eagle Services-Asia, and Beaver Aerospace. Defense Aerospace focuses on the T-56 engine, as well as engines for the C-130 Hercules, P-3 Orion, F-16 Fighting Falcon. The Repair & Repair Management segment includes the High Tech Avionics & Accessories division, which provides Federal Aviation Administration-approved repair and overhaul and specializes in computers and pilot and flight control systems. The Aerospace Distribution division has aftermarket parts distribution agreements with Ametek, Honeywell, and Meggitt, to name a few. Kellstrom Power Group provides parts, including engine parts, pumps, sensors, filters, and controls, for aeroderivative gas turbines.
Kellstrom Industries operates in more than 35 countries.
Inverness Management led a group that bought the assets in 2002 of Kellstrom Industries, which had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier that year.
