Advertising is the big idea at Deutsch. The firm, led by advertising-guru-turned-television-personality Donny Deutsch, offers creative development and brand marketing services through offices in New York and Los Angeles. Clients have included such notable brands as DIRECTV, GM, Novartis Worldwide, and Johnson & Johnson. Deutsch also does interactive and direct marketing work, as well as event marketing. The agency creates branded entertainment through its media unit. Founded in 1969, Deutsch is a subsidiary of global advertising conglomerate Interpublic Group. It enhances its geographical presence by working closely with Lowe & Partners Worldwide, another Interpublic agency.
Interpublic aligned Deutsch with Lowe & Partners in late 2009 in order to capitalize on their similar offerings. In Deutsch, Lowe benefits from working closely with a full service agency based in the US while Deutsch gains ground through accessing Lowe's global network of advertising and creative services.
Chairman Donny Deutsch continues to develop a career outside advertising as a regular guest on morning news shows (such as NBC's popular Today program). Deutsch is the former host of his own talk show, The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, which aired on CNBC and was canceled in late 2008. He is also the author of The Big Idea: How to Make your Entrepreneurial Ideas Come True from the AHA Moment to Your First Million.
