Independent ad agency Brunner, formerly known as Blattner Brunner, provides advertising, design, marketing, and public relations. Specific services include brand strategy, research and planning, mobile and shopper marketing, and social media. Its Brunner Digital unit (formerly bbdigital) offers services such as Web site design and development, digital marketing, and media planning. The agency's clients include Zippo Manufacturing Company, H.J. Heinz Company, DeVry University, and GlaxoSmithKline. Chairman and CEO Michael Brunner, who helped found the agency in 1989, has been its controlling shareholder since 2003.
The agency has offices in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and Washington, DC.
Although privately held, Brunner reports revenue of about $220 million.
In early 2013 Brunner spun off its digital and mobile innovation lab into a separate company, BHiveLab. Among the projects the new company is working on are a Spotify-type service for recipes and OBJCTIFY, a platform that connects physical objects embedded with sensors (such as RFID tags) to the Internet.
