The partners travel often, so they are not in the office. Hoteling is common.
Bonuses are weak. Who wants to have dinner with the partners as a reward when we've been spending some much time at work. No control over your projects. The partners will put you anywhere they want to make sure you are working. Lots of ineffective managers everywhere in the firm, because the partners are too busy and not around to notice. Long hours. The partners all band together for one cause, they convince themselves until they themselves believe in their cause, even when it doesn't make sense. The partners will create all those committees and projects to fool staff in believing it's the staff's voice, when all it is is just a project to create an illusion.
Come into the firm as a manager or higher so that you have people to delegate to, otherwise they just burn you out.
