Families are priority for senior management

3.0 of 5 stars

April 2017 | FORMER EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Working with highly intelligent and motivated people. You really are working with the best of the best.

Downers

Career driven women are not treated with the same respect as women with families. Your personal time is not perceived by management as being valuable if you don't have children to go home to, so as a result, you are constantly required to pick up the slack, work weekends when mothers are not, and are always the first to be sent on an out of town engagement.

Comments

It is a great environment to challenge yourself, to work hard and to learn at an exponential rate. Don't accept your personal time being undervalued because you don't currently have a family.

If you get involved with the firm then it might not matter that it becomes your whole life! The people here are wonderful and seem to care a lot about doing a good job.

The opportunity to learn about various industries and delve into the financial realities of the marketplace.

Downers

As an entry level employee, the work is often not very engaging and can be a bit boring.

It's important to learn how to navigate a massive **** corporate beaurocracy early in your career!

I actually like my own job/clients/team and like how much flexibility and time off I get

Downers

Any time I have to interact with KPMG nationally as a firm or deal with any of the beaurocracy inherent in almost everything you want to do.

Comments

As good a place to start your career as any, but if you don't have a specific interest in the industry/clients you are assigned and don't instantly identify that your team is one of the rare ones that actually gives a **** about the staff, you should be planning your exit from day two and focused on getting your CPA done ASAP.
