EY-Parthenon offers a unique blend of boutique firm culture and big firm capabilities. Insiders appreciate the opportunity to drive tangible value for high-profile clients, and the ability to make connections at some of the best-known brands in global business.
The firm is recognized for offering high compensation and a better work-life balance than other firms around it in the industry. However, insiders note challenges such as the administrative constraints tied to EY's audit practice—something that made headlines in 2022 and 2023 as the firm publicly announced plans to split its consulting and audit divisions before backing away after backlash in the US.

Employee Reviews
“Broader EY is a large firm with many capabilities, but EYP cultivates a close-knit culture that can feel like a boutique company at times.”
“Capability. Being part of the global EY network provides EY-Parthenon opportunity to serve as end-to-end advisor for clients.”
“Not a dog-eat-dog culture. No up-or-out policy. Truly supportive culture where senior personnel pull the people below them up and help carve out opportunities for them to develop skills and advance.”
“Strong learning and development opportunities for business's largest initiatives enabled by a supportive, team-oriented culture.”
“We offer unparalleled flexibility and freedom for working professionals. We don't order people to come into the office under threat of punishment, we entice them with perks. We let people move to non-hub cities to better fit their family life, and we come to our clients with the backing of the far larger EY organization to solve the entire range of strategic, operational, or tactical issues faced by the client.”
Getting Hired Here
“As of fall 2023, there is one round of interviews consisting of two cases and one behavioral interview. Applicants will typically hear back 2-3 weeks after the interview takes place as to whether they received an offer. At the associate rank, we are looking for candidates who are coachable, passionate about consulting, strong business understanding/acumen, and a willingness to learn and try new things.”
“EY-P recently switched to Super Days, which include two cases and one behavioral. EY-P really looks for well-rounded candidates who they would feel comfortable putting in front of clients and who would be good to work with. During interview deliberations, there is strong consideration on if a candidate seems coachable and if they have a positive attitude.”
“On campus we screen and then move to an in person super day. Very competitive process with less than 5% making the cut to get the job. We seek out well rounded, data driven, diverse candidates who are very personable.”
“We are looking for smart people with the right attitude and drive. ‘Smart-Nice-Driven’. This is more than just a phrase: we genuinely screen to filter out people that cannot maintain the positive environment that we have.”
“We have a robust process for determining a candidate's level of interest, authenticity, and personality fit over the course of the formal campus recruiting process. Candidates who make the effort to meet more practitioners, display intellectual curiosity, demonstrate an interest in solving challenging problems, and possess a history of achievement are ideal candidates for EYP. We conduct one Superday with one behavioral interview, and two interviewer-led cases which focus on business judgment and teamwork. This teamwork aspect is unique in that it often asks candidates to provide personal experiences to build a connection with the interviewer mid-case. The result is that higher EQ candidates do better and our ‘nice. smart. driven’ culture is preserved.”
