With a history that dates back to 1942, Crowe Horwath began as a
certified public accounting firm with only two full-time employees.
Crowe established its consulting group in the 1960s, and in 1991 it
became a member of Horwath International, a worldwide organization
of accounting and consulting firms. The affiliation increased
Crowe's ability to serve clients with international needs. Formerly
known as Crowe Chizek & Company, the firm changed its name in
2008 to Crowe Horwath to strengthen its alignment with Horwath
International. In 2009, Horwath International changed its name to
Crowe Horwath International.
Crowe currently has approximately 3,500 employees serving out of
offices across the U.S. as well as Canada, Grand Cayman, France,
India, and the U.K. The firm provides audit, advisory, performance,
risk consulting, and tax services to companies in numerous sectors,
including construction, education, finance, food and agriculture,
health care, manufacturing and distribution, not-for-profit,
private equity, and state and local government. By revenue, Crowe
is the eighth-largest accounting firm in the country. The firm
booked $721.5 million in revenue in its latest fiscal year.
