MBA in a Day is a great event, it is an open day when you have the opportunity to spend the day at Ashridge meeting faculties, attending sessions in finance and strategy. People have lunch together with faculty members and are interviewed (optional). Everybody is very approachable, supportive and helpful. The school emphasizes the importance of diversity and your own point of view. The essay questions are in the application form brochure and you should strive to stress your capability and your own view. Response usually is in few days (less than a week). There is no extreme bureaucracy--the whole procedure is supportive and encouraging.

Academics: The School Says
We believe that all development must make a difference, be practical and based on real issues. Would you learn surgery from a doctor who has never performed an operation or law from a lawyer who has never stood up in court? No, of course not. Then why would you learn business from someone who has never led an organization? At Ashridge, you will learn from faculty who have earned their living at the cutting edge of business at senior positions in international organizations. The MBA project goes beyond theory by giving you the opportunity to put into practice all that you have learned via a strategic consulting assignment for a client organization or for your employer.
Ashridge is a leading provider of executive education (third in Europe in the Financial Times' Customized Executive Education Rankings) and one of the only business schools to have its own consulting arm. Ashridge works with thousands of executives around the globe every year and this business experience feeds directly into the MBA programs.

Employers like the "real-life" approach developed by Ashridge. From a career perspective, most of my classmates did immediately got either a promotion or were offered a higher position in another company. I was offered a great opportunity in a big U.S. company.

During an intense week in module, the college bar is the main haunt, with an occasional walk up to the local country pub. Usually two evenings a week are taken with one formal dinner with a speaker and an informal night doing drumming or something interactive. The fellow students on the program keep you grounded (and smiling). Learning support groups (approximately five or six people) are allocated and become what you make of them--learning support, personal support or an opportunity to meet between modules for a beer.
