This Week's BigLaw Spring Bonus News

This week’s spring bonus news:
•Mayer Brown: Mayer Brown announced on Friday of last week that it will pay supplemental bonuses on the Cravath scale. Bonuses will be awarded based on receipt of 2010 year-end bonuses and productivity in 2011 (except for the class of 2010).
•Quinn Emanuel:Quinn Emanuel announced that it will pay midyear bonuses (in addition to already-promised deferred June bonuses) based on billable hours.
•Akin Gump: Akin Gump announced that it will pay spring bonuses on the Cravath scale. Bonuses will be awarded based on receipt of 2010 year-end bonuses.
•Vinson & Elkins: Vinson & Elkins announced that it will pay spring bonuses, but the firm’s scale differs from the Cravath scale:
Class of 2010: $2,500
Classes of 2008 & 2009: $5,000
Class of 2007 +: 25% of 2010 year-end bonus.
