Kirkland layoffs

Back in March, one Kirkland & Ellis associate told us, "I fully expect more lay-offs in addition to those the firm has (quietly) undertaken already. This will only worsen what is already a very difficult working environment. Employee morale at the firm is terrible, although in fairness I'm sure it's bad at most big firms right now."  A different K&E insider told us, 'Not too many associates freaking out about layoffs, despite Above the Law posts saying otherwise."  On July 30th, ATL asked "Are Layoffs Coming to Kirkland & Ellis?"  Well, nobody will be too surprised that, as we just now learned from a source, the answer is "yes," and in Chicago, no less.  (Was that a scoop?).  Details to follow...
