As if students don't have enough to worry about
Published: Sep 07, 2007
As naive 1Ls begin their law school slog and nervous 2Ls play the interview game, it’s no doubt dispiriting to read some of the doom-and-gloom stories circulating recently:
The Legal Intelligencer worries, “With Dip in Economy, Are Associate Layoffs on the Horizon?” and Vault Global Finance Editor Derek Loosvelt discusses how the credit crisis may affect hiring in the banking industry.
Meanwhile, news that Jones Day and Kirkland & Ellis are sending legal work to India has others wondering whether U.S.-trained associates will become obsolete.
No wonder Joshua Redman would rather cut a record than go to law school.
