Are Workers Being Rewarded For Doing More?

It will likely come as little surprise that the average worker's productivity has made leaps and bounds over the past few decades. Nor that compensation hasn't increased at the same exponential pace. But a recent chart from the BLS shows just how far apart the two have grown since the onset of the computer revolution.

The chart raises a number of questions. Chief among them: is it likely that this trend will ever be reversed, or that the gap between productivity and salaries will close in future? And if the gains haven't been going to workers, where have they been going?
