You're Hired! [No, seriously, people got jobs]

Published: Apr 24, 2009

If you were unable to figure out a way to smile even after all of yesterday's great "Get Happy" suggestions, maybe a simple bit of encouraging news will do the trick for you on a beautiful Friday: The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported earlier this month that 4.4 million Americans got jobs in February, just a shade less than the 4.5 million hired in January. That's right, people, we're working again!

Alright, so we're not out of the Recession woods just yet, but this news has to raise your spirits at least a little. As we also mentioned in this space recently, 28 companies on the Fortune 100 list have at least 150 job openings. Prudential is hawking career opportunities on a digital Times Square billboard. And with the millions of job seekers still looking for work, recruiting and staffing professionals are as much in demand as ever.

It's going to be a beautiful weekend out there, so make sure you get out and do something that makes you smile. Then, get back to the grind and help contribute to some more positive hiring stats. HAPPY Fridays, all!
