In addition, there's free reading material -- but you're gonna have to work for it (a little). PS is in possession of the recent title from Bill George, 7 Lessons for Leading in Crisis. (George, former chief exec at Medtronic, was the introductory speaker at last week's World Business Forum. All you've got to do to snag the book is grovel -- sorry, just send us your top crisis-born insight (via Comments or pinkslipped@vault.com); the best entry will earn some choice reading material.
Oh, and NYC-ers, for your culture shot of the week, say "Happy 50th Birthday" to the Guggenheim Museum next Wednesday (the 21st) by queuing up for free entry. The modern art museum, currently hosting a Kandinsky exhibit, generated controversy from the start; when Frank Lloyd Wright's plans for the building were unveiled, its detractors claimed its "curvilinear slope...indicates a callous disregard for the fundamental rectilinear frame of reference." Today, we've still got "callous disregard," but the phrase is more apt to be thrown after greedy Wall Streeters and health insurance companies, not harmless buildings.
Stop by next week for more swag. (Yes, we know we're using that term rather loosely.)
