Bill Belichick and Wilco are among those with tales of (relative) woe, but Robert Redford's story is the most surprising/entertaining. One of those noted, the otherwise invisible Annabelle Gurwitch, produced "Fired!: Tales of the Canned, Canceled, Downsized, and Dismissed," filled with anecdotes from actors and comedians.

Michael Bloomberg is the only true "business" person included here, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of worthwhile stories out there from the former pillars of trading, banking or consumer products management.
