Not frowning after all

Hey now -- guess there is some evidence of employer optimism after all. In contrast to an earlier post on that group's pessimistic tendencies, CNNMoney.com reports that General Motors, AMD (Advanced Micro Devices), Seagate Technologies and the Horn Group are among the firms that have restored salaries to earlier levels after cuts. FedEx is considering a similar move, and consultants Watson Wyatt note that currently, 44% of employers anticipate a rollback by March, whereas only two months ago, just 30% thought they'd take that leap.
